German national arrested with more than 6 kg of hashish from TIA

KATHMANDU, June 12: A German national has been arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) with more than 6 kg of hashish.


He was arrested by the police Monday morning while he was about to board a Turkish Airlines flight to Stuttgart from Kathmandu via Istanbul. The arrestee has been identified as 63-year-old Paul Rist, according to the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Spokesperson and Superintendent of Police Chakra Raj Joshi.

The German national had wrapped the hashish in a carbon paper and hidden it in a suitcase. The hashish was recovered when the airport police examined the suitcase. After that, the police handed him over to the NCB.


SP Joshi stated that more than 6 kg of hashish was recovered from him and further investigation is underway.
