SIMIKOT- July 3: Seven people were arrested by the police after they tried to rob a foreign tourists in North Namkha Rural Municipality of Humla District. They tried to rob a German national Matthias Ikma, 38, who was traveling on the Great Himalaya Trail.
The road workers tried to rob Ikma, who was heading from Nara to the hills in Namkha Rural Municipality-5. The workers were involved in the construction of the Hilsa-Simikot route, according to Police Inspector Deepak Malla.
4 Indian men arrested after US tourist accused them of rape
The arrested are identified as Himal Sunar, Kamal Thapa, Chhavilal Basnet, Madhav Thapa, Ganesh Sunar, Khem Sunar, and Bijay Bista. They are from Ghorahi and Tulsipur in the Dang district, according to Bista. All seven are taken to the district headquarters in Simikot from Namkha.
