Gold-chains snatchers land in police net

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: A joint police team from Metropolitan Crime Division, Teku and Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala has arrested three people for their alleged involvement in over 70 gold-chain robbery cases.

KATHMANDU, Dec 7: A joint police team from Metropolitan Crime Division, Teku and Metropolitan Police Circle, Gaushala has arrested three people for their alleged involvement in over 70 gold-chains robbery cases.                                                      


MPC, Gaushala has also taken a jeweler under control on the charge of purchasing those stolen gold chains.

According to MPC, Circle, the arrested are Prakash Sunuwar of Udayapur, Jiwan Thapa Magar of Sindhuli and Jitendra Lamichhane of Parbat.


Police have also arrested jeweler Dilli Sher BK of Morang district for purchasing the stolen gold chains. 


The arrested were currently staying at Sinamangal while BK runs a jewelry shop in New Baneshwor.


Police said that the arrested trio on motorcycle used to snatch away gold chains from women walking on the streets and sold them to BK.
