Gold price drops by Rs 700 per tola

KATHMANDU, Jan 18: The price of gold dropped by Rs 700 per tola in the domestic market on Thursday.


The price of fine gold, which was Rs 118,200 per tola on Wednesday, is set at Rs 117,500 on Thursday.

Similarly, standard gold is being sold at Rs 116,950 per tola today. It was sold at Rs 117,650 per tola yesterday.


According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations, the domestic market has been affected due to the decrease in prices in the international market. Earlier on Wednesday, too, the price of gold had decreased by Rs 1,200 per tola.


According to the Federation, the price of silver has also decreased. The price of silver, which was Rs 1,400 per tola the previous day, has remained at Rs 1,390 per tola on Thursday.
