The price of the precious yellow metal surged by Rs 8,300 in current month alone
KATHMANDU, March 10: The price of gold which has been consistently setting new price records, soared to Rs 126,000 per tola on Sunday.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Associations, the price reached this high after a Rs 1,000 increase compared to Friday's rate.
Just on Thursday and Friday, the price stood at Rs 125,000 per tola. This Nepali month of Falgun (mid-Feb to mid-March) alone, there has been a striking increase of Rs 8,300 per tola.
Gold price hits historic high of Rs 90,600 per tola
At the onset of the current month, gold was traded at Rs 117,700 per tola. Despite minor fluctuations, the price has not dipped below Rs 116,500 per tola.
Similarly, standard gold is being traded at Rs 125,400 per tola on Sunday, a rise from Rs 124,400 per tola on Friday.
Silver prices have also surged along with the price of gold, reaching Rs 1,475 per tola on Sunday, up from Rs 1,470 per tola on Thursday and Friday.
In the international market, gold is trading at $2178.8 per ounce, while silver is priced at $24.31 per ounce on Sunday.
