KATHMANDU, Aug 9: The price of gold has been on an upward trend, increasing by Rs 1,500 per tola on Friday.
The Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Associations (FENEGOSIDA) has set the trading price of gold at Rs 148,100 per tola for Friday. This follows a rise of Rs 300 per tola on Thursday.

Silver prices have also gone up. The FENEGOSIDA reports that the price of silver has increased by Rs 40, reaching Rs 1,740 per tola. This is a reversal from Thursday, when silver prices dropped by Rs 10 per tola.
In the international market, the price of gold has risen to $2,422.41 per ounce, up from $2,395.41 per ounce on Thursday. Silver prices have also increased to $27.65 per ounce.
