Gold, silver trader shot dead after robbery

LAHAN, April 11: A gang of unidentified armed robbers wearing masks have killed a trader in Siraha district.


Pradip Kumar Mijar, a gold and silver entrepreneur at Lahan Municipality -23, Gadhiya Chowk, was shot dead by a gang of nearly nine robbers on Saturday midnight.

According to DSP Tapan Kumar Dahal of the Area Police Office, Lahan, Mijar was attacked with Khukri on his head, face and hands, besides being shot in the chest.


Severely injured Mijar breathed his last while undergoing treatment at the Lahan-based Saptarishi Hospital.


Before murdering him [Mijar], the gang had robbed gold, silver and some cash from his shop. Mijar’s wife, Amita, also sustained wounds on her right hand during the incident. She was discharged after receiving treatment at Saptarishi Hospital.


Police took Ram Krishna Chaudhary of Lahan-7 and Surya Sahani of Lahan-23 under control with chisel tools for further investigation into the case, according to DSP Dahal.
