RASUWA, August 4: Gosaikunda Rural Municipality has become the first rural municipality in Bagmati Province to fully vaccinate locals against COVID-19.


Bimal Ghimire, head of the health department of the district, said that the citizens above 18 years of age have been fully vaccinated against the disease.

Gosaikunda has become the first rural municipality in Rasuwa district to be fully vaccinated.


In Gosainkunda Rural Municipality, 1,295 people have received the first dose of Covishield and 5,174 people have received the first dose of Vero Cell. Similarly, 237 people have been vaccinated with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.


A total of 6,706 people were planned to be vaccinated in this rural municipality with a population of 8,618. Of them, 5,681 people above 18 years of age have been given both doses of COVID-19 vaccine.


In Rasuwa district, a total of 68.38 percent people have been vaccinated with the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines. Similarly, 18.76 percent of them have been vaccinated with both the doses.
