KATHMANDU, Jan 12: Minister of State for Finance, Udaya Shamsher Rana has said the government banks should be able to give the message to the people that they are capable of giving outstanding services and facilities.
Addressing a programme organized by the Nepal Financial Institutions Employees Association, Rastriya Banijya Bank Ltd Central Committee here today, he said the government banks would be able to compete with other private banks only if they were managed in consonance with the development of new technology.

The Minister of State for Finance urged the government banks to improve their service delivery to the satisfaction of their clients and to adopt an efficient work culture. He said he was always ready for help for the rights and interests of the employees even if he is not in the government, adding that the government to be formed now should win the confidence of all.
President of Nepal Trade Union Congress, Khil Nath Dahal underscored the need of holding extensive discussions as to how the people could be attracted to the government-run banks.
President of the Nepal National Employees Organisation RBB chapter, Dipendra Karki said that the trade unions should work for the professional enhancement of the financial institutions while Association president Ved Prasad Lawoti stressed on the professional development of the employees. RSS
