Committee formed to give suggestions on Guthi management in Kathmandu Valley

KATHMANDU, March 23: Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation has formed a committee to give suggestions to the ministry regarding the management of Guthis (trusts) across Kathmandu Valley.

KATHMANDU, March 23: Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation has formed a committee to give suggestions to the ministry regarding the management of Guthis (trusts) across Kathmandu Valley.  


The committee formed under the leadership of parliamentarian Jeevan Ram Shrestha is mandated to submit a report to the ministry within a month.

The committee has been asked to carry out in-depth study on the trusts in Kathmandu. The committee members will hold interactions with concerned stakeholders including Guthiyars (trustees) during their study.


Based on the suggestions to be provided by the committee, the ministry will work to formulate a law to manage the Guthis.
