Govt cancels citizenship of Indian nationals

KATHMANDU, June 27: The government has canceled the citizenship of five Indian nationals.

KATHMANDU, June 27: The government has canceled the citizenship of five Indian nationals. The cabinet meeting held last week decided to take action against the Indian nationals who took the Nepali citizenship presenting fake documents.

Unveiling the cabinet decision on Thursday, Minister for Communication and Information Technology Gokul Baskota informed that the accused have received the citizenship from different DAOs. According to him, Jeevan Kumar Singh took the citizenship from Saptari, Dharmendra Thakur and Ajay Kumar Thakur took from Dhanusha and Yamuna Singh aka Jamuna Raut and Kripali Singh aka Kripali Raut obtained citizenship from Rautahat.
