"We have ensured proper security to hold the poll in a peaceful manner. We may conduct an aerial patrol if needed." There is proper coordination between the security agencies to deal with possible challenges during the poll as it is being organized in a single day unlike in the past, he asserted.
Stating that there would be an agreement and cooperation between the coalition parties in the government for the election, Khand, also an influential leader of the ruling Nepali Congress, warned of action against those not abiding by the decision of the alliance.
"Whether or not the electoral coalition continues is not an important issue at present. There might be an electoral alliance in some places or the coalition partners may contest independently in others. But what the center decides should be followed by all," he said.
On the reinstatement of the Governor of the Nepal Rastra Bank Maha Prasad Adhikari, Minister Khand said that the government would honor the court's decision. Earlier, the government had decided to suspend Adhikari, accusing him of leaking sensitive information to the media and not cooperating with the government to solve the current economic crisis.
