KATHMANDU, May 31: The government has formed a committee under the leadership of a government secretary to solve the payment problem of sugarcane farmers.


A recent meeting of the Council of Ministers formed a committee under the coordination of the Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, Govinda Prasad Sharma.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the committee will have joint secretaries from the Office of the Prime Minister and the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and the Ministry of Home Affairs.


Farmers of Kapilvastu and Kanchanpur have been protesting in Kathmandu for two weeks because of non-payment of their dues for a long time.
