KATHMANDU, Sept 11: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that the government is holding discussions with other political parties to forge broader national consensus to endorse Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) agreement through the parliament.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the meeting between Prime Minister Deuba and Vice President Sumar focused on the MCC Compact with Nepal-US cooperation and its potential for economic transformation of Nepal.
Vice President Sumar is on a four day visit to Nepal from Thursday. She has clarified that there is no military component in the Rs 55 billion project. She will also address the questions raised by the Ministry of Finance as well as gather information about MCC from the Nepali people.
She also had separate meetings with CPN Maoist Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda), Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Pampha Bhusal on Friday.
