Govt hopes Vladimir Putin will visit Nepal: Baskota

KATHMANDU, Nov 28: Spokesperson of the government Gokul Prasad Baskota has said that the government has invited Vladimir Putin to visit Nepal.

KATHMANDU, Nov 28: Spokesperson of the government Gokul Prasad Baskota has said that the government has invited Vladimir Putin to visit Nepal.


"During his recent visit to Moscow, Foreign Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali invited Russian President Putin to visit Nepal. We are hopeful that the visit will take place at an opportune time," Baskota said during a press briefing on the recent cabinet decisions.


Baskota said that the government has been pursuing the policy of maintaining high-level exchange of visits with various countries around the world.

"We (Nepal) are now being heard in the international arena," he argued.


He further said that the government has given top priority to enhance bilateral ties with other countries through conducting the high-level exchange of visits.


Earlier, some media reports said that Putin will visit Nepal sometime in December.
