Govt initiates process to fix salaries of province governors

KATHMANDU, July 11: A cabinet meeting held on Sunday decided to give consent to the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to formulate a bill for fixing salaries, perks and other facilities for governors of the 7 provinces to be formed in line with the new constitution, according to Minister of Sanitation and Drinking Water Prem Bahadur Singh.

KATHMANDU,July 11: A cabinet meeting held on Sunday decided to give consent to the Office of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers to formulate a bill for fixing salaries, perks and other facilities for governors of the 7 provinces to be formed in line with the new constitution, according to Minister of Sanitation and Drinking Water Prem Bahadur Singh. 


Similarly, the cabinet also decided to appoint former minister Madav Prasad Poudel as chairman of Nepal Law Commission. Likewise, director general of the Department of Irrigation Ramananda Prasad Yadav has been promoted to the post of secretary.

Singh informed that the cabinet also decided to give consent to his ministry to formulate an umbrella drinking water and sanitation bill. Likewise, the cabinet also decided to provide Rs 200 million to BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for procuring medical instruments.


Meanwhile, the cabinet also decided to provide two pairs of one-horned rhinos to China. Chinese government had requested for two pairs of one-horned rhinos with Agni Sapkota, the minister for Forest and Soil Conservation (MoFSC), during his visit to China in January.
