Govt invites applications for 100,000 temporary police recruits for upcoming local level election

KATHMANDU, March 16: The government has invited applications for 100,000 temporary police recruits for the upcoming local level elections. Nepal Police Headquarters has invited applications for temporary police recruitment as the Election Commission expedites preparations for the election.

KATHMANDU, March 16: The government has invited applications for 100,000 temporary police recruits for the upcoming local level elections. Nepal Police Headquarters has invited applications for temporary police recruitment as the Election Commission expedites preparations for the election.


The Police Headquarters called for applications on Tuesday and said that those who want to join the temporary police force can apply from March 20 to March 25.

The application form for the temporary police is available at District Police Offices across the country and at three police stations in Kathmandu Valley. The government in consultation with the EC has announced it will hold the local level election on May 13.


The salary for the temporary police is Rs 30,240, in which basic salary is Rs 22,680   for the service time of 40 days. There will also be rations allowance of Rs 7,200, uniform and other allowances of Rs 6,000, transport allowance of Rs 1,000 as well as insurance facilities.


A person, who is a Nepali citizen above 18-54 years, physically and mentally fit, literate, not convicted in any criminal case and not a member of any political party, is eligible for the temporary police recruit.
