Speaking at a national workshop organized in Kathmandu on Thursday  on the Media Monitoring Report of General Election 2022, CEC Thapaliya asked, “Can Press Council Nepal bring social media under its purview and  monitor it or not?”

He also requested the Press Council to develop a software so that the materials published and broadcast in all media will come automatically. “If that happens, it will be easier for Press Council Nepal to do the monitoring job,” he said.

CEC Thapaliya also suggested that it would be appropriate for the Press Council Nepal to form a separate team to look at the software.
