Govt official held with Rs 10,000 bribe

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested a government official on the charge of taking bribe.

KATHMANDU, Jan 14: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has arrested a government official on the charge of taking bribe.


Acting on a tip-off, anti-graft team deployed from the CIAA office, Tangal on Sunday arrested kharidar Bidur Pokharel, a non-gazetted second class office of District Court, Kathmandu, with Rs 10,000 in bribe.

The CIAA has filed a corruption case against him at the Special Court, Kathmandu in accordance with the Prevention of Corruption Act 2002 (3) (1).
