KATHMANDU, July 27: With an aim to help Nepal build its administrative and technical capacity, Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has selected 15 Nepalese government officials for Masters Fellowship Program in South Korea.
The selected officials, who took basic Korean language training for 16 days, will be leaving for South Korea on August, according to a press statement issued by the aid agency on Wednesday.

The fellows will attend Kyunghee University, KAIST University, Hanyang University, among other, Korean universities.
Speaking at the orientation program on Wednesday, KOICA's Country Director Hyungkyoo Kim, highlighted that the fellowship will provide the participants with a platform where they can not only learn many things but also apply it in their respective fields in Nepal.
“I hope that their stay in Korea will be informative and the participants will be better equipped with new knowledge and will be responsible for promoting further development in Nepal,” said Dr Kim.
So far, over 60 government officials have already received master's degree from renowned Korean universities through the fellowship program.
Many of them are actively involved in activities of KOICA Alumni Association of Nepal (KAAN), which was formed by former trainees of KOICA with an aim to share Korean knowledge in their respective fields and to work as a bridge between Korea and Nepal, according to the statement.
