KATHMANDU, April 30: The government has set a plan of endorsing the constitution amendment bill today from the parliament and ending the ongoing parliament session right after the endorsement.
The government has already briefed its plan to Speaker Onsari Gharti and the Parliament Secretariat. According to Speaker's Press Advisor Basudev Sharma (Babin) the government has informed parliament secretariat that it would end the ongoing House session tonight if the process regarding constitution amendment bill is concluded today from the House meeting.

The House meeting is scheduled to begin at 1 PM.
On the other hand, main opposition CPN-UML said that neither the government nor the speaker has consulted the opposition about ending the House session. "CPN-UML wants to settle everything through dialogues and discussions. UML is against the amendment bill but we want to settle the issue through dialogues. If the government moves unilaterally ignoring our voices, we'll strongly oppose it," said Bhanu Bhakta Dhakal, the chief whip of the UML parliamentary party.
The ongoing House session is probably the longest session in history. The session that began on May 3, 2016 is still on. Though there is a tradition of proroguing the budget session once the full budget for the fiscal year is endorsed, the ongoing session has continued even after endorsement of the budget for fiscal year 2016-17.
