KATHMANDU, July 15: In line with Monday’s Supreme Court’s mandamus, the government on Thursday recommended to President Bidya Devi Bhandari to call a new session of parliament on July 18.
According to Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, goverenment spokesperson, the fresh sessions of the two houses of parliament --- the House of Representatives and the National Assembly --- have been scheduled for 4PM Sunday, next week.
Govt recommends to President to summon house session on May 23

The Supreme Court issued an order in the name of the government to call a new House sesion by July 18 when it passed its verdict on the House dissolution case. This would be the first meeting of the 275-member lower House of parliament after it was unconstitutionally dissolved on May 22.
President Bhandari prorogued the ongoing session of the upper House --- NA--- on Monday on the recommendation of the outgoing KP Oli-led government.
