KATHMANDU, May 20: The government has announced various programs to promote the use of indigenous products. Through policies and programs, the government is going to identify industries that can produce goods and services that can be self-sufficient and make policy arrangements for the development and stability of such industries.
Presenting the policies and programs on Friday, President Ram Chandra Paudel said that arrangements will be made to purchase indigenous goods, even if they are expensive up to 20 percent.
He said that the government would support Make in Nepal and Made in Nepal campaigns.

Similarly, commercial products with mountain water and lenses produced by Tilganga Eye Hospital will be branded in the world market, Paudel said.
It is mentioned in the policies and programs that arrangements will be made to build and operate the infrastructure of the industrial sector, special economic zone and industrial village in partnership and cooperation with the private sector.
It is also in the policy and program that the amount of the construction cost of the access road and transmission line necessary for the industry will be paid by the investor himself.
Likewise, to support the marketing of the products of micro, domestic and small industries scattered all over the country, an exhibition center will be put into operation in a public-private partnership. A new Industrial Development Act will be formulated by integrating the legal provisions directly related to industry and investment promotion.
