KATHMANDU, May 4: The government has started the process of building temporary houses for the fire victims. Prior to this, temporary houses had been constructed for the earthquake victims.
Chief Executive Officer of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority (NDRRMA), Anil Pokharel, said that the process of constructing temporary houses for the fire victims has started from Friday. The 22nd meeting of the Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Executive Committee held on the same day under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane decided to move ahead with the process of constructing temporary houses.

The meeting also decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to the fire victims in two installments at the rate of 25,000 to build temporary houses for families who have lost their homes due to fire, wildfire, earthquake, floods, landslides, lightning, and storm, according to CEO Pokharel.
