KATHMANDU, Feb 28:  The Nepal government has decided to establish a cancer hospital in Banke on the memory of former prime minister late Sushil Koirala.


The Cabinet meeting on Tuesday took the decision to establish Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital at Khajura in Banke district.

"The meeting of the Council of Ministers today decided to bring a piece of land owned by Paropakar Mission, an organization in Banke district, under the ownership of the Nepal government and establish Sushil Koirala Prakhar Cancer Hospital at Khajura, near Nepalgunj," said Minister for Health Gagan Thapa.


The cabinet also decided to accept a loan of Rs 15 billion from World Bank for the reform of health sector.


Meanwhile, the Cabinet took a decision to provide three more days to the taskforce led by Minister for Local Development Hitaraj Pandey for studying the report submitted by the commission formed to restructure local units in the federal set-up.


The Committee is assigned to study the report and address grievances from the Tarai Madhes regarding the report.
