Govt to immediately release remaining Rs 520 million to pay the sugarcane farmers

KATHMANDU, Dec 18: The government has decided to immediately provide the remaining Rs 520 million to be paid to the sugarcane farmers.


Prime Minister's press coordinator Surya Kiran Sharma said that the meeting of ministers and secretaries of concerned ministries held on Sunday in the presence of Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal decided to provide the remaining payment to the sugarcane farmers immediately.

Minister of Finance Dr. Prakash Saran Mahat, Minister of Agriculture Dr. Beduram Bhusal, Minister of Industry, Commerce and Supply Ramesh Rijal, Chief Secretary Dr. Baikuntha Aryal, Secretaries of Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Industry were present in the meeting.


In the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal directed the ministers and secretaries to make production-oriented policies, plans and programs by giving priority to the agricultural sector and farmers and to show readiness in implementation.
