KATHMANDU, May 11: The government is scheduled to present its Policies and Programs for the upcoming fiscal year 2022/23 in parliament on May 21. President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called a parliamentary session on May 17.
Spokesperson for the Federal Parliament Secretariat Dr Roj Nath Pande said that the policies and programs of the government for the upcoming fiscal year 2022/23 will be presented in parliament on May 21. According to the constitutional provision, the budget has to be brought on May 29, so the President has called the parliament session on May 17. Pande said that the amendment and discussion of the government's policies and programs will be held from May 22 to May 25.

Similarly, Spokesperson Pande said that the Parliament Secretariat has completed the preparations including security and health standards for the budget session. He mentioned that Finance Minister Janardan Sharma is scheduled to present a proposal on budget principles and priorities in the first meeting of the House of Representatives on May 17 and the pre-budget discussions will be held in parliament on May 18 and 19.
Likewise, Finance Minister Sharma is said to submit a proposal on economic survey in parliament on May 26 or May 27 and he would deliver the budget speech on May 29 as per the constitutional provision. The Finance Bill and other programs will continue throughout the month of mid-June after May 29. According to Pande, along with the meeting of the House of Representatives, the National Assembly will also start on May 17.
