HoR to begin deliberations on govt’s policy and programs on Friday

KATHMANDU, May 21: The government’s policies and programs for the fiscal year 2024/25 are scheduled to be discussed in parliament starting Friday.

KATHMANDU, May 21: The government’s policies and programs for the fiscal year 2024/25 are scheduled to be discussed in parliament starting Friday.


In the meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) on Tuesday, Speaker Devraj Ghimire informed the lawmakers that the government’s policies and programs would be up for deliberation starting Friday.

The government is gearing up to present the budget for fiscal year 2024/25.


Emphasizing the importance of party representation in the discussion of policies and programs, Ghimire urged party officials to provide the names of speakers from their respective parties to kick off the meeting. He also requested the Management Division to arrange facilities in the Legislative Management Branch.


Members wishing to propose amendments to the policies and programs are requested to register their names between 11 AM and 2 PM on Wednesday.


President Ram Chandra Paudel had presented the annual policies and programs of the government for the upcoming fiscal year during the joint session of the Federal Parliament on May 14.
