KATHMANDU, August 7: CPN-UML lawmaker Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has said that the current government is considering the health insurance program as a commercial insurance scheme.
Speaking during the special hour in the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, Bhattarai accused the government of treating the health insurance program as a commercial insurance scheme.

He said that the health insurance program should be made into a social security health insurance rather than a commercial one. MP Bhattarai said that it is necessary to increase the scope of health insurance and it should be increased from Rs 100,000 to Rs 1 million.
He accused the current government of refusing to pay the COVID-19 insurance amount of more than Rs 6 billion. He called the ruling five-party coalition government a five-faced government. He objected to the amendment to the regulations by changing the age limit to 63 years under the direction of the Prime Minister under the chairmanship of the Minister of Health for doctors who had to retire due to the age limit of 60 years in Gangalal Hospital.
