KATHMANDU, July 23: The government has transferred 11 secretaries and appointed two secretaries. According to a government minister, Ghanashyam Upadhyay, who was recently promoted to the post of secretary, has been posted at the Office of the Chief Minister Office of Bagmati Province and Laxmi Basnet at the office of the Chief Minister Office of Gandaki Province.
Upadhyay and Basnet will work as chief secretaries in the provinces. The government has transferred Secretary Madhusudan Burlakoti to the vice president's office and another secretary Mukunda Niraula to the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies.
Govt transfers six secretaries
Secretary of the Election Commission, Gokarna Mani Dawadi has been transferred to the Ministry of Land Management and Cooperatives. Secretary Surya Gautam has been transferred to the Election Commission. Toyam Raya, the secretary working at the Vice President's Office, has been transferred to the Central Bureau of Statistics. Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism, Suresh Adhikari, has been transferred to the Ministry of Education. Secretary Bharatmani Subedi has been transferred to the Ministry of Tourism, Ram Krishna Subedi to National Natural Resources and Fiscal Commission and Rabi Lal Panth to the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
Secretary Damodar Regmi has been transferred to the Public Procurement Monitoring Office and Gopi Khanal to the Prime Minister's Office. The minister said that the meeting of the Council of Ministers held on July 19 decided on the transfer and appointments of the secretaries in question.
