Govt urges people to promote VNY 2020 logo in social media

KATHMANDU, Aug 12: The government has asked the people to promote the logo of Visit Nepal Year (VNY) 2020 through their social media profiles.


The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, issuing a press statement on Sunday, asked Nepalis residing in every nook and corner of the world to expand and promote the VNY 2020 campaign.

The ministry has asked all Nepalis to share the VNY 2020 logos via their personal social media accounts. Public and private organizations and associations are also encouraged to use the logo in their website and social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.


The promotional move is expected to sustainably establish Nepal as a major destination for natural beauty, cultural diversity, and adventurous tourism in the international tourism market, the ministry has said.


The government's appeal is aimed at mobilizing public support and engaging the people in promotion of the campaign. Promotion of the campaign is taking place in the international markets.


The government had declared 2020 as the Visit Nepal Year with a target to achieve two million tourist arrivals. The tourists are expected to spend US$ 75 daily on average. Nepal received a total of 1.17 million international tourists excluding overland travelers.
