KATHMANDU, Aug 18: Citizens Bank International has appointed national cricket team vice captain Gyanendra Malla its brand ambassador on Friday.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the bank Rajan Singh Bhandari, handing over a cricket bat to Malla, declared the national vice captain as the bank’s brand ambassador amid a press meet in Kathmandu. The bank, however, did not announce the contract amount agreed between the two sides.
Malla appointed brand ambassador
As the brand ambassador of the bank, Malla will now have to participate in the publicity campaigns of the bank among its various other plans. Malla expressed his happiness on a private bank’s initiative of investing on players.
“I am very thankful to the bank for appointing me as the brand ambassador,’’ Malla said, “There is a sense of relief among players as these days corporate sectors have gradually stepped up their investment on sports that helps players sustain in the sector. This type of support always becomes crucial for players.’’
He believed that such supports from the corporate sectors will attract more youths in the sports sector.
Likewise, the Deputy CEO of the bank Ganesh Raj Pokharel said that he is happy to appoint Malla as the bank’s brand ambassador and that the bank wants to keep on investing in sports sector. “We have been investing in badminton, tennis, among others. These examples make it clear that the bank is ready to invest more in the sports sector,’’ Pokharel explained.
Earlier, the bank had sponsored big tournaments of golf, tennis, futsal, cricket, among others, and also appointed national shuttler Nangsal Devi Tamang as a bank staff.
