Haircuts become dearer as BUN issues new salon service rates

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: The Barber Union of Nepal (BUN), an umbrella organization of barbers across the country, has increased the fees for hair cutting and beard-shaving in salons across the Kathmandu Valley.

KATHMANDU, Sept 19: The Barber Union of Nepal (BUN), an umbrella organization of barbers across the country, has increased the fees for haircutting and beard-shaving in salons across the Kathmandu Valley.


The Valley committee of BUN has issued a notice and announced that new rates have been implemented from September 17. According to the notice, now the fee for a haircut is fixed at at least Rs 200. Earlier, this fee was Rs150 per haircut.

Similarly, the fee for trimming or shaving the beard is fixed at Rs 120 to 200. According to the BUN, the cost of hair design has increased from Rs 350 to Rs 500, beard design from Rs 150 to Rs 250, scalp massage to Rs 200, shampoo from Rs 120 to Rs 150, hair coloring from Rs 500 to Rs 650, and facial treatment from Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,200.


According to the BUN, Kathmandu, due to the increase in the prices of everything, the salon services have also been increased.
