Health Ministry appeals to all to maintain precaution as number of COVID-19 cases go up

KATHMANDU, April 11: The Ministry of Health and Population has appealed to all to stay aware and alert in view of the growing cases of coronavirus infection. Further alertness is essential as the number of infections is likely to grow for more days.

KATHMANDU, April 11: The Ministry of Health and Population has appealed to all to stay aware and alert in view of the growing cases of coronavirus infection. Further alertness is essential as the number of infections is likely to grow for more days.


Joint Spokesperson at the Ministry of Health Ministry, Dr Samir Kumar Adhikari, informed, "Current state indicates the infection will spread more for some days. So, everyone needs to abide by public health protocol."


Everyone is recommended to take vaccine against the coronavirus. The virus graph is in upward trend for some days. On Monday alone, the Ministry recorded infection among 124 persons- out of 2,566 tests conducted.

Similarly, 29 persons got recovery from coronavirus the same day. The number of people with active infection has reached 444. 


There are 21 persons in isolation in the Kathmandu Valley while 10 are receiving treatment at ICU. 


In the neighbouring country, India, a new variant of omicron XBB.1.16 has spread lately. The infection which had reduced to zero in Nepal has now increased due to open border.
