The petitioner argues that Lamichhane's name appears in the charge-sheet, detailing loans he allegedly took. They also seek to annul a letter from the Attorney General’s Office, which stated there is no case against him.

The Attorney General’s Office, Attorney General Dinmani Pokharel, and Lamichhane have been named as defendants in the case. Advocate Bhattarai contends that Lamichhane's positions as Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister could influence the investigation, compromising natural justice.
