Hearing on murder case against Speaker Sapkota deferred again
Sapkota is accused of murdering one Arjun Lama of Kavre during the course of the decade-long Maoist armed conflict in the country. A case was filed against Sapkota by Lama’s wife Purnimaya Lama in 2008, accusing him of kidnapping lama and burying him alive.
After the case was not properly investigated by the police, Purnimaya filed a case at the Supreme Court on March 5, 2008. The case is supposed to be heard by a constitutional bench of the Supreme Court.
