KATHMANDU, May 30: Hearing over the writ petitions filed against the dissolution of the House of Representatives (HoR) has been adjourned for Sunday.
Hearing on parliament dissolution case over, verdict likely on...
The Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana-led five-member Constitutional Bench placed the hearings under ‘continued hearing’.
Sunday’s hearing was mainly focused on the formation of the Constitutional Bench to hear the writ petitions which demand the restoration of the lower house of parliament dissolved on May 22. Lawyers from both sides put forth their arguments over the questions raised on a couple of members of the Bench.
Chief Justice Rana picked justices Dipak Kumar Karki, Dr Aanand Mohan Bhattarai, Tej Bahadur KC and Bam Kumar Shrestha for the Bench to hear more than two dozen petitions registered against the ‘unconstitutional’ dissolution.
The Bench began hearing on the petitions on Friday, last week.
