KATHMANDU, Nov 8: The Supreme Court (SC) has scheduled for Tuesday the hearings on a petition demanding halt to the salary, perks and other government incentives being provided to the suspended CIAA Chief Lokman Singh Karki.
The petition was filed on October 21 by advocate Om Prakash Aryal. Karki, the head of the powerful anti-corruption body, was suspended from his position after 157 parliamentarians brought an impeachment motion in parliament alleging that Karki abused his office.

In addition, another writ petition has been filed at the court demanding action against those involved in obstructing the court administration from serving court summons on Karki. Karki's relatives and some other individuals had obstructed court staffers from pasting a notice at Karki's address at Old Baneshwar. The court is scheduled to conduct hearings on this petition also on Tuesday.
The court had served a summons letter at Karki's residence in October, a month after it was issued by the court asking him to appear before the court within 15 days. Till date, Karki has not appeared before the court. Instead, Karki has begun preparations to move the court challenging the impeachment motion.
