KATHMANDU, July 10: The Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) has warned of heavy rain in Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces over the next three days starting today.
Currently, the country is experiencing the influence of monsoon winds, with a low-pressure system located in the surrounding places in east and south of surrounding areas extending westward.
Rainfall continues today
According to the latest meteorological bulletin issued by the MFD at 6 AM, light to moderate rains are occurring in various places across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, and Karnali provinces.
This afternoon, the country is expected to be generally cloudy with the possibility of light to moderate rainfall in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces, and a few places in other provinces.
The MFD has highlighted the likelihood of heavy rain at a few locations in Koshi, Madhesh, and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in Bagmati Province. It also warned of the possibility of very heavy rain at one or two places in Koshi and Madhesh provinces.
Tonight, the forecast indicates generally cloudy conditions nationwide, with the potential for light to moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in some areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, and a few places in the remaining provinces. Additionally, heavy rainfall is expected at one or two places of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Lumbini, and Gandaki provinces, according to the MFD.
