KATHMANDU, July 14: Light to moderate rainfall is expected in some places in all the provinces of the country today. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD), there is a normal to complete change in weather in the morning across the country. It is raining heavily in Sunsari and Morang of Koshi province. According to the Flood Forecasting Division, there was heavy rain in Sunsari's Itahari, Morang's Letang, Haraicha, Kanepokhari and surrounding areas.
According to MFD, there may be flash floods in the surrounding small rivers such as Sunsari river, Lohandra river, Chisangkhola. Similarly, light to moderate rains are currently occurring in some places of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Few places of Gandaki province are experiencing heavy rain with thunder and lightning.
Flood hits Eastern Nepal
It is said that partial to normal showers will prevail across the country this afternoon. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some places of all the provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at a couple of places in Koshi and Gandaki provinces. There is also a possibility of windstorm in few places of Terai in Madhesh and Lumbini provinces.
According to MFD, there will be normal to complete change in weather across the country tonight. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain at a few places in the Sudurpaschim, Karnali, Lumbini and Gandaki provinces and few places in the remaining provinces. There is also a possibility of heavy rain with thunder and lightning at a couple of places in Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is also a possibility of storm in few places of Terai region of Madhesh and Lumbini provinces.
As the low pressure line of monsoon continues to move towards Nepal, heavy rains are being experienced in various parts of the country, MFD said.
