MAKWANPUR, Dec 23: Hetauda Hospital in Makwanpur has started regular dialysis service for kidney patients.
Currently, a total of 66 kidney patients from Siraha, Bara, Parsa of Madhes province and Sindhuli and Makwanpur of Bagmati province are receiving dialysis services on a daily basis at the hospital.
Free dialysis service in Beni hospital
Kidney patients are required to take dialysis service twice a week. Currently, 13 dialysis machines are used in the dialysis unit room of the hospital to provide dialysis service to each patient three times daily in the morning, afternoon and evening, said Head of the Dialysis Unit, Seema Kandel.
The Ministry of Health and Population of the Federal Government, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City, Rotary Club Hetauda and Aarogya Swastha Pratishthan, Lalitpur have helped install dialysis machines in the hospital.
More than 400 kidney patients have been identified in Makwanpur and they are taking dialysis services in various hospitals in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Chitwan according to their convenience, said Lakshman Prasad Ghimire, Information Officer of District Health Office Makwanpur. Free dialysis service is provided under the Indigent Citizens Treatment Service Fund based on the recommendation of the concerned local government.
