Free dialysis service in Beni hospital

GALESWOR, March 11: Regular dialysis service is to be rendered to kidney patients at Beni Hospital in the headquarters of Myagdi district.


The hospital will begin free of cost dialysis service from 14 March after the Gandaki state minister for social development provided necessary equipment along with the budget for the service delivery. Bel Bahadur Katwal, chair, Beni hospital management committee, said a hemodialysis unit has been set up at the hospital with six machines.

To regularize the service, the state government has provided four machines while Diaspora (Prabasi) Myagdi has aided two machines, he shared. He further informed that the human resource including doctors, staff nurses, and assistant health workers has been already managed at the unit.


Three beds will be brought into operation in the first phase, he said. The arrangement has been made in a way to provide daily dialysis services to 12 patients in two shifts, he further shared.


The hospital, however, has a plan to deliver service three times a day after six months as per the need. Minister for Social Development Naradevi Pun is scheduled to inaugurate the service.
