KATHMANDU, July 10: A high-level meeting of people's representatives has been held in Kathmandu at the initiative of the Ministry of Water Supply in a bid to expedite the much-awaited Melamchi drinking water project. The attending people's representatives discussed ways to expedite and sort out difficulties faced in completing the remaining works of the project, said the Ministry. The meeting was held at the ministry under the chairpersonship of Minister for Water Supply Bina Magar.
Key issues of Pancheshwar remain unsettled
On the occasion, Minister Magar said she was at work to complete the remaining tasks of the national pride project soon. She also asked the people's representatives for their help in removing difficulties facing the project. The meeting also decided to look into the report submitted by the project study and facilitation task force formed to study the project and resolve the difficulties involved.
The meeting was attended by former minister and member of the House of Representatives from Sindhupalchok, Agni Prasad Sapkota and Sher Bahadur Tamang, secretary at the Ministry of Water Supply, Dipendra Nath Sharma, chief of Sindhuplachok district coordination committee, Krishna Gopal Tamang and deputy executive director of the Melamchi drinking water project development committee, Ram Chandra Kharel.
