High level probe committee member Birendra KC resigns over report's credibility

KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Member of the High Level Investigation Committee formed to look into the Nirmala rape-murder case Birendra KC, who is also the under-secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of Province 7, has resigned from the committee.

KATHMANDU, Sept 10: Member of the High Level Investigation Committee formed to look into the Nirmala rape-murder case Birendra KC, who is also the under-secretary at the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law of Province 7, has resigned from the committee.


He informed to have tendered his resignation at a press meet organized in Nepal Reporters Club on Monday.

He resigned from the committee expressing grievances over the credibility of the report prepared by the High Level Investigation Committee.


KC has expressed dissatisfaction over the investigation report of the five member committee led by Hari Prasad Mainali, under-secretary at the Home Ministry.


The probe team had started its work on August 24 from Mahendranagar.


KC’s resignation has come at a time when the probe committee is preparing to submit its report at the Home Ministry.
