Member of high level probe team on Nirmala rape-murder case Birendra Bahadur KC, who had resigned from the committee expressing dissatisfaction over the credibility of the report, has withdrawn his resignation.
KC had announced his resignation organizing a press meet saying that the probe team on the Nirmala rape-murder incident led by Joint-Secretary Hari Prasad Mainali could not identify the culprit within 15 days and that the committee would not do justice to the victim.

However, KC withdrew his resignation two days before he tendered it and agreed to resume his work following two-hour-long talks with Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa and IGP Sarbendra Khanal on Wednesday afternoon.
KC said he was threatened for his life while was heading to the incident site with Chief District Officer in a vehicle.
“I held talks with the home minister for two hours. He assured me of security and would also allow me to carry out my work from Kathmandu itself in case of risk. That is why I have returned to the committee,” said KC.
