Home Minister himself reaches detention center and releases leaders and cadres of Janmat Party

KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Anita Devi, Janamat Party Chairman CK Raut and others were arrested by the police while gathering in the Maitighar area to celebrate 'Dhoti Diwas'.

KATHMANDU, Jan 1: Minister for Federal Affairs and General Administration Anita Devi, Janamat Party Chairman CK Raut and others were arrested by the police while gathering in the Maitighar area to celebrate 'Dhoti Diwas'.


Home Minister Narayankaji Shrestha personally went to Nepal Police Health Club at Bhrikutimandap and released them. "Home Minister Shrestha accepted their shortcomings and released all the protesters in his presence," said Sharat Singh Yadav, spokesperson for the Janmat Party.

To celebrate 'Dhoti Diwas' on the occasion of English New Year 2024, leaders and cadres of Janamat Party gathered at Maitighar with banners proclaiming 'Dhoti Diwas'. After gathering in the restricted area, the police tried to chase them away. During that time, they had a scuffle with the police.


Then, the demonstrators breached the police cordon, resulting in their arrest.
