Price of the compact SUV starts from Rs 4 million
KATHMANDU, Aug 11: Japanese carmaker Honda has launched a new four-wheeler BR-V, or Bold-Runabout Vehicle (BR-V), in the Nepali market.
Syakar Trading Company (STC), the authorized distributor of Honda for Nepal, launched the compact SUV amid a function on Tuesday evening.
Available in six color options -- carnelian red pearl, white orchid pearl, alabaster silver metallic, golden brown metallic, urban titanium metallic, alabaster silver metallic and taffeta white, price of the BR-V starts from Rs 4 million, according to STC officials.
Claiming that BR-V is the first seven-seat SUV in Nepal, officials of STC said that the car comes loaded with number of first in-class features like Heat Absorbing Windshield, CVT with Paddle Shifter, Second Row Sliding and Reclining Function, and Third Row Seating with Reclining Function.
The BR-V is powered by 16-valve 4-cylinder 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. The i-VTEC petrol engine, according to STC officials, delivers maximum power of 119 PS at 6,600 rpm and maximum torque of 145 Nm at 4,600 rpm. The car is available in five variants.
“The unique 'Paddle Shift' option in the CVT variant provides the convenience of an automatic with enhanced driving pleasure of a manual and can be operated using the Sports Car inspired paddle switches located just behind the steering spoke,” said the company in a press statement.
The BR-V has dual SRS air bags among other safety features. Similarly, projector headlamps, front grille design, heat absorbing wind shield, LED position lamps and 16-inch aluminum wheels, which emphasize on dynamism and ruggedness of the BR-V, are the other features in Honda's new offering.
It also features host of advanced interior equipment including the Push Button Start with Smart Entry, Integrated Bluetooth Audio System with hands free telephone and steering mounted controls for audio, automatic air conditioner and Power Foldable ORVMs to provide more convenience for the consumers, the statement added. The car is 4,456 mm long, 1,735 mm wide and 1,666 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,662 mm.
According to STC officials, the BR-V is based on Honda's 'Man Maximum Machine Minimum' concept to create maximum space for the occupants, offering significantly high headroom, legroom and knee room.
