KATHMANDU, Oct 1: Speaker of House of Representatives Krishna Bahadur Mahara has stepped down from his post on Tuesday.
Mahara tendered his letter of resignation on the moral ground to Deputy Speaker Shivamaya Tumbahamphe after facing allegations of sexually harassing a female employee at the Parliament Secretariat.

In the letter, he has stated that he resigned to pave the way for fair investigation over the allegations.
