KATHMANDU, March 31: The 10th edition of ‘HR Meet 2017’ organized by Growth Sellers Consultancy Pvt Ltd concluded on Thursday. The main aim of the meet was to nurture, empower and strengthen human capital, according to the organizers. The meet started on Wednesday.
According to the organizers, the meet concluded that all stakeholders should focus on strengthening human capital for the development of the nation with proper education, motivation, incentives, capacity building training and right attitude.

“The meet was participated by more than 250 HR (human resource) professionals. The meet helped participants know more about the value of human resources in the organization and expand their knowledge on global trends and practices. TVRLS chairman T V Rao and I S F Irudayaraj, a faculty member of Xavier Labour Relations Institute, India, delivered sessions on ‘The 360 Degree Feedback’ and ‘Emerging roles and response of HR over decades’,” Growth Sellers Consultancy said in a statement. “There were participants from the corporate, banking, manufacturing, IT, corporations, institutions, NGOs/INGOs and other sectors from all over the country.”
Speaking at the meet, Swarnim Wagle, a member of the National Planning Commission, said that in bureaucracy there was a system of monetary incentive which could not motivate civil servants as there was a flat appraisal system. Proper performance measurement systems should be introduced to make fair judgment about the bureaucrats working in the public system, he said.
“Having a post-graduation degree won’t contribute human capital to the nation. A right attitude and capacity-building of people will make them human capital for the nation. The system of selecting civil servants through examination process run by the Public Service Commission needs to be changed as the government has no system of synching educational background with responsibility,” National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) CEO Govind Raj Pokhrel said.
Growth Sellers Consultancy Pvt Ltd said it had been organizing the event since 2008.
