Human trafficker arrested after 10 years

NUWAKOT, July 26: District Police Office Nuwakot has arrested a 44-year-old man, Maan Bahadur Tamang aka Thinley of Dupcheshwar Rural Municipality-1 for his alleged involvement in trafficking young girls from Nepal to India.

NUWAKOT, July 26: District Police Office Nuwakot has arrested a 44-year-old man, Maan Bahadur Tamang aka Thinley of Dupcheshwar Rural Municipality-1 for his alleged involvement in trafficking young girls from Nepal to India.

Police suspected Tamang's involvement in disappearing two women of Ghyanphedi. During investigation, it was found that the accused was involved trafficking a twelve-year-old girl to India about a decade ago. Tamang, who is a resident of Ghyangphedi VDC-7, lives in Hadikhola VDC- 1, Makwanpur.


Superintendent of Police Dev Bahadur Bohora informed that in 2008, he along with his five other members of his group tempted a young girl for employment in Kathmandu and later sold her to India. The girl was rescued from India's brothel after a month. The girl was kept in 'Nepal Ghriha' for two years after she was rescued. She now lives in Nepal Girls Organization.
